you ever notice how the dates on certain products are labeled as "sell by" dates... what the fuck is up with this? do the consumers really care when someone else needs to sell the product to us by? no... not at all. i care when the shits going to make me hurl for four fucking hours. is this just the milk companies' way of telling their dealers that they better get rid of this shit soon, because before long a it will be a gallon of cheese?
and then because of this shitty labeling system, when we see a product that is just labeled with a date, we don't know whether it's "sell by" or "consume by". |

i started a new job a few weeks ago. Going from Staples to Lone Star so quickly has made me realize that working in the food industry is a huge change from retail. it's a lot more running around, but i can also make a lot more money while doing so. also, for the most part, i really like the social environment at lone star. they have been scheduling me to work alot which sucks, but i have been earning some monetary compensation, so i can't complain.
senior year seems to be winding down and the idea of high school being over is very welcome and also very scary. |

last day before may.. this is where it really starts to feel like summer.
i felt like i had so much to say to my livejournal and i even felt that this was going to be a long post. then i thought about the community of people who might read this and decided against it.
now i feel like i have nothing to say.
things on my mind bother me and no matter how much i try i can't make myself forget about them or ignore me. logic and past experiences tell me these feelings are unfounded, but i just can't help them. and i know........ ah.. im just going to stop. |

hmm today was interesting. drove around a lot. went out to dinner with my sisters and my mom and my sister's best friend and the other sister's boyfriend. 6 of us total.
my father has been in paris for the past week.
what a pathetic journal entry.. my apologies.
---------
Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day You fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town Waiting for someone or something to show you the way
Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain And you are young and life is long and there is time to kill today And then one day you find ten years have gone behind you No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
And you run and you run to catch up with the sun, but it's sinking And racing around to come up behind you again The sun is the same in a relative way, but you're older Shorter of breath and one day closer to death
Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines Hanging on in a quiet desperation is the English way The time is gone, the song is over, thought I'd something more to say |

i feel so torn.
decisions are sometimes hard to make. i think that we often forget this. You think that you can handle doing something, and then when you get to the roads ahead, and dont know which to choose, what do you do? you just give up. but you can never really do that. youve got to take one of the easier paths, or else make a new road. You then develop your new course on and on, until it seems to have its own way and its own destination. And that that is where we continue to journey to. But do we ever get there? we see ourselves in the future, having certain lives and living certain ways. but do we ever get to these places. maybe there are always obstacles and fears and tough decisons that make us stray to a new path.
this may not be a very optimistic way of looking at my future, but am i completely wrong? i guess what im trying to ask is do we ever get to where it is we want to be? do we ever get to all the things that we want to do.. i truly hope so.
... i now have my third detention from mrs dilling, i wonder whether she knows how unfair she is? Although I may be wrong about that too. |

Randal: So they build another Death Star, right? Dante: Yeah. Randal: Now the first one they built was completed and fully operational before the Rebels destroyed it. Dante: Luke blew it up. Give credit where it's due. Randal:And the second one was still being built when they blew it up. Dante: Compliments of Lando Calrissian. Randal: Something just never sat right with me the second time they destroyed it. I could never put my finger on it-something just wasn't right. Dante: And you figured it out? Randal: Well, the thing is, the first Death Star was manned by the Imperial army-storm troopers, dignitaries- the only people onboard were Imperials. Dante: Basically. Randal: So when they blew it up, no prob. Evil is punished. Dante: And the second time around...? Randal: The second time around, it wasn't even finished yet. They were still under construction. Dante: So? Randal: A construction job of that magnitude would require a helluva lot more manpower than the Imperial army had to offer. I'll bet there were independent contractors working on that thing: plumbers, aluminum siders, roofers. Dante: Not just Imperials, is what you're getting at. Randal: Exactly. In order to get it built quickly and quietly they'd hire anybody who could do the job. Do you think the average storm trooper knows how to install a toilet main? All they know is killing and white uniforms. Dante: All right, so even if independent contractors are working on the Death Star, why are you uneasy with its destruction? Randal: All those innocent contractors hired to do a job were killed- casualties of a war they had nothing to do with. (notices Dante's confusion) All right, look-you're a roofer, and some juicy government contract comes your way; you got the wife and kids and the two-story in suburbia-this is a government contract, which means all sorts of benefits. All of a sudden these left-wing militants blast you with lasers and wipe out everyone within a three-mile radius. You didn't ask for that. You have no personal politics. You're just trying to scrape out a living. (The Blue-Collar Man (Thomas Burke) joins them.) Blue-Collar Man: Excuse me. I don't mean to interrupt, but what were you talking about? Randal: The ending of Return of the Jedi. Dante: My friend is trying to convince me that any contractors working on the uncompleted Death Star were innocent victims when the space station was destroyed by the rebels. Blue-Collar Man: Well, I'm a contractor myself. I'm a roofer... (digs into pocket and produces business card) Dunn and Reddy Home Improvements. And speaking as a roofer, I can say that a roofer's personal politics come heavily into play when choosing jobs. Randal: Like when? Blue-Collar Man: Three months ago I was offered a job up in the hills. A beautiful house with tons of property. It was a simple reshingling job, but I was told that if it was finished within a day, my price would be doubled. Then I realized whose house it was. Dante: Whose house was it? Blue-Collar Man: Dominick Bambino's. Randal: "Babyface" Bambino? The gangster? Blue-Collar Man: The same. The money was right, but the risk was too big. I knew who he was, and based on that, I passed the job on to a friend of mine. Dante: Based on personal politics. Blue-Collar Man: Right. And that week, the Foresci family put a hit on Babyface's house. My friend was shot and killed. He wasn't even finished shingling. Randal: No way! Blue-Collar Man: (paying for coffee) I'm alive because I knew there were risks involved taking on that particular client. My friend wasn't so lucky. (pauses to reflect) You know, any contractor willing to work on that Death Star knew the risks. If they were killed, it was their own fault. A roofer listens to this... (taps his heart) not his wallet. |

today john denizio, sean haussman, and myself were driving(john was the one who was actually doing the driving) home from school. we saw kenny kurtulik next to us and i had a toy that i had gotten from burger king(a transformer) that i had given to john. well he thought it would be funny to hold it out the window pointing at kenny. it was. until he hit the car in front of us. we pulled over and the guy told us not to worry about. even though there was bad paint damage he didnt care because it was a company car. this was the luckiest bit of luck ever allowed by lady luck herself.

| yesterday i finally got my oil changed. |
[Sep. 1st, 2005|12:34 am] |
Man was I proud. It was only 16 bucks and they gave me the oil, so i didnt have to use oil that i had bought earlier this month. They did it pretty quickly too. It was this place up 202 by hess, suburban auto --something. SOOOO I got it done and i watched him do it. So next time i will just change my own oil.
I just don't know what the legal way of discarding the old oil is. If anyone knows what the environmentally-conscience method, please feel free to tell me so i don't just dump it in my neighbors front yard or something. That would not be good.......... One fire next door is enough. |
